In the Spirit of the Season

As you may (or may not) know, many of the wounded soldiers from Iraq end up in at Brooke Army Medical Center here in San Antonio. When you're writing out your cards this year, you may want to include one to someone who may need it more than you know. You need to know that all mail will be opened and read before distribution and that homemade goodies will not be given to any of the troops. So keep those Christmas cookies to yourself, but spread some cheer the old-fashioned way. Send a card!

Mail should be addressed to:

“Any Recovering Soldier” at Brooke Army Medical Center

Gift Coordinator (ATTN: Norma Guerra)

3851 Rodger Brooke Drive

Fort Sam Houston , TX 78233

What We Have Here is a Failure to Communicate...

I've had way too much fun giggling over this not to share it.

I've been running a parallel blog http://nosheep4u.wordpress.com/ to see if I like it any better. (And today I do because I haven't been able to upload the banana photo here.) Check out the comment from SexyCoolSuperSpy on the "Are You Thinking What I'm Thinking" post. This person is all outraged over a knitted fruit puppet which is pretty comical all by itself. Now what was he looking for that might have had "sheep" in it? Maybe I need to rename the blog...

I Got It!

Oh, technology - I may get this yet. I've been trying for awhile to get the little weather pixie on here and there she is! And, I added a couplet to the world's longest poem, so I got their button on here - I'm rockin!

I did get my FO pictures taken (and for you non-knitters, that stands for Finished Objects - not what you were thinking!) Now I've got to get them up here and captioned and I'll be good to go for awhile, maybe. I'm heading to my local SNB tonight as I need a fellow fiberista fix...

Argghh!

Time flies and I must be in a wormhole. I promise to be a little better about posting than I have recently. I still have to get my FO photos up, too! I've recently gotten some new yarn for the old stash, so I will get that updated as well.

I've been working feverishly on a blanket for the Yarnivore Knit-a-Thon which benefits Child Protective Services here in S.A. I'm almost done, but since it's in stripes, I've got major weaving to do. I did see a tutorial for weaving in ends that may just save my butt on this project. here's the link: http://sockpr0n.blogspot.com/2006/10/how-to-weave-in-ends-while-knitting.html
Thanks to Lime & Violet's link, I'm saved!!!!!!!!

My proofreader...

Here's a shot of the witch cat (at least according to dear hubby.) She's a mouser - the one on the computer, that is! I keep telling her she makes a better door than a window, but I don't think she cares...
